Passport Renewal

Isang nakakalukang araw ang maghagilap ng DFA sa MegaMall. Hindi ko alam kung mahirap bang makita, or medyo hindi lang ganun kagagaling magbigay ng tamang lokasyon ang napagtanungan ko. So ito nga nangyari; galing sa Cainta, nag-FX ako hanggang MegaMall, bale ang baba ko nun sa entrance ng SuperMarket sa Mega B. Nagtanong ako sa guard on duty, sabi nya: “Dyan po Sir sa Mega C,” sabay turo sa Exit. So ako, sumunod naman, malay ko bang may Mega C na! Tanong ulit sa maintenance, sabi nya: “akyat po kayo, tapos deretso po kayo,” sabay turo sa pasilyo papuntang Mega A.  Hindi ko parin makita. Kasi ang nasa isip ko Mega A, Mega B at syempre Mega C na! Tama ako diba? So bumalik ako at tinuntun yung side ng Megamall na facing EDSA. Noong makita ko na yung bagong structure ng mall, nagtanong ulit ako sa help desk, Mega B parin ako nun huh. Sabi ni Madam: “Akyat kang 5^th floor, tapos mga pangalawang elevator yun, tapos may makikita kang connecting bridge. Yun na!” so ako naman pasikat na naglakad while playing Drunk on Love by Beyonce. Tapos may nakita akong mga nakapila, sinundan ko ito, ngunit hindi pa pala! Deretso akong lumakad hangang matuntun ko ang nasabing “connecting bridge” at dun na nagsimula ang pila sa Department of Foreign Affairs.

Pagkapasok na pagkapasok, makikita agad ang help desk ng DFA na nasa Step 1 - Verification process. Ibigay lamang ang iyong printed online form sa kanila, icheck nila sa database and proceed to the next. Step 2 – Processing. Dito naman icheck ang iyong mga requirements (For Renewal: photocopies of Page 1 and last page of your old passport, photocopy of your valid ID and original birth certificate.) Step 3 – Cashier. Dito ka magbabayad. (700 pesos for regular and 1,200 pesos naman for rush.) Step 4 – Encoding. Dito i-encode ang mga detalyeng nakasulat sa iyong printed online form. Kukuhanan ka rin ng picture at thumb marks dito.
